Discovery & Hall of Fame

Beyond your own library, Immerle surfaces a handful of automatically generated and curated playlists, plus a personal top-tracks ranking. None of it needs admin setup: it syncs itself in the background.

A generated chart playlist, Global Top 50

Auto-generated playlists

Materialized as ordinary playlist rows (so they behave exactly like any other playlist, in the app or over Subsonic, nothing special to configure):

  • Genre & decade playlists ("Rock", "Rap", "1990s"…): public, read-only, rebuilt daily from your local catalog.
  • "Made for you" (Home screen, private per user): Top of your month, On Repeat (last 30 days), Forgotten favorites (starred tracks unplayed for 90+ days or never played), and a random 30-track shuffle. Any list with zero tracks is simply skipped.
  • Mood playlists (Calm, Focus, Melancholy, Energy, Party, Workout): public, picked from the sonic analysis when an admin turns them on.
  • Weekly trending: public, the most-scrobbled tracks across all users in the last 7 days.
  • Chart playlists: a worldwide chart plus five major markets (FR, US, GB, DE, ES), synced weekly from Spotify's public chart data. Tracks resolve lazily through your on-demand providers the same way a federated playlist does, no provider configured just means those tracks aren't playable locally yet.

Recommendation mixes

Private, per-user playlists picked by a third-party engine, refreshed daily alongside the others. The engine is credited on the cover and under the playlist title. Recommended tracks are kept as artist/title references and resolved lazily on first play (your library first, then your on-demand providers), so even a small library gets a populated list.

immerle discover

discover.immerle.com is a shared music catalog fed by charts and popular editorial playlists. It is off by default and nothing is sent to it until an admin turns it on from Admin > Settings > immerle discover. The server then registers itself (no account), and users are only ever sent as anonymous references, never names or emails.

Once it is on, every feature below is on too, and each can be switched off separately:

  • Scrobbles: completed plays of users who have scrobbling enabled. The suggestions below learn from them.
  • Discover Mix: the personal Mix discover playlist.
  • Curated playlists for you: the editorial playlists that overlap most with what each user listens to (never charts), in their own Home section.
  • Similar tracks: backs Subsonic getSimilarSongs with library tracks discover finds similar, when the sonic radio is off or the track is not analyzed.

A playlist whose feature is switched off is removed at the next daily sync. Deleting a user also deletes their plays from discover, even while it is switched off.

Wrapped

A personal year-in-review: total listening, top tracks, artists and genres, and a per-month histogram for any calendar year, computed from your play history. On by default; an admin can switch it off from the admin settings.

Hall of Fame

A personal, hand-curated top-tracks ranking (not a playlist, its own thing). Add any track to it from the track's context menu; the top 3 get a gold/silver/bronze podium, the rest a ranked list below, each optionally annotated with a short note (e.g. "listened to this in college"). Drag to reorder.

Gated by an admin-togglable capability (hallOfFame, enabled by default, see Connecting clients for how the app hides a feature entirely the moment an admin switches it off).
